Donald Trump has ordered the US military to immediately resume nuclear weapons testing after 33 years, moments before a crucial meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The American president made the surprise announcement on Truth Social from his Marine One helicopter while flying to meet Xi for a trade negotiations in Busan, South Korea.
