A senior official in President Donald Trump’s Department of Homeland Security appears to have found one Democratic strategy worth backing: copying the party’s stock trades.
Pedro Allende, the Department of Homeland Security’s under secretary for science and technology, disclosed purchasing between $15,000 and $50,000 of the Subversive Democratic Trading ETF (BATS:NANC) on May 15, according to a financial filing first reported by NOTUS. The fund mirrors trades made by Democratic members of Congress. Allende also bought more conventional index funds, including the Vanguard S&P 500 ETF (NYSE:VOO) and the Invesco QQQ Trust (NASDAQ:QQQ), the filing showed.
