Trump look-alike standing behind president on tarmac sends late-night host spiraling

  • Jon Stewart , during a Daily Show segment, questioned the identity of a man resembling President Trump seen behind him after the World Cup final.
  • Looming in the background was a man who bore a resemblance to the president: similar build, similar age, and clad, like Trump, in a navy suit. Stewart jokingly suggested the man could be a “backup Trump,” referencing a conspiracy theory about Melania Trump.
  • The identity of the mystery man is unclear, though he may have been Viktor Knavs , First Lady Melania Trump’s father, who attended the match alongside the president. The Independent has contacted the White House for comment.
  • A White House spokesperson previously described Stewart as a “ talentless hack ” who “clearly suffers from a severe and debilitating disease known as Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
  • President Trump has previously criticized Stewart, including a 2013 tweet calling him a “p****.”
