Former President Donald Trump made headlines during his recent campaign rally in the Bronx by inviting two rappers, Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow, on stage with him. The rappers, whose legal names are Michael Williams and Tegan Chambers, have been indicted over an alleged conspiracy to commit murder.
Williams and Chambers are among 32 alleged gang members named in a 140-count indictment that includes charges of murder, shootings, and assaults. Both individuals have pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against them.
During the rally, Trump introduced the rappers and shook their hands before inviting them to speak. Sheff G expressed his belief that Trump would highlight their successes, while Sleepy Hallow echoed the sentiment by saying, “Make America great again.” Trump, in turn, complimented Sheff G’s grills and humorously remarked that he wanted his teeth to look like that.
The event, held in a predominantly Democratic county, took place just days before closing arguments in Trump’s New York criminal hush money trial. The former president is facing 34 felony counts and has maintained his plea of not guilty.
