Former President Donald Trump expressed his desire to debate Vice President Kamala Harris but has not yet confirmed any specific debates. He mentioned that the previously agreed-upon September debate with ABC was intended to be with President Joe Biden, who is no longer in the race.
During a call with reporters, Trump stated, 'I haven't agreed to anything. I agreed to a debate with Joe Biden. But I want to debate her, and she'll be no different, because they have the same policies. I think debating is important for a presidential race, I really do, you sort of have an obligation to debate.'
Trump indicated his willingness to engage in multiple debates with Harris, emphasizing the significance of presidential debates in the electoral process. He also criticized ABC, the network set to host a presidential debate on September 10, expressing his dissatisfaction with their coverage of Biden's withdrawal from the race and accusing them of portraying Biden as a hero.
On Truth Social, Trump had previously mentioned his preference for Fox News to host the debate instead of ABC.
