Former President Donald Trump recently made inflammatory remarks about Vice President Kamala Harris and her handling of illegal immigration during a rally in Arizona. Trump claimed that Harris is bringing criminals from around the world into the United States, alleging that migrants are being released from prisons and mental health facilities in other countries to enter the US.

During the rally, Trump warned that if Harris were to become president, the entire country would turn into a migrant camp. He specifically targeted Venezuela, accusing the country of sending street criminals and drug lords to the US. However, these claims lack substantial evidence and have been widely disputed.

Trump's campaign spokesperson cited an unverified Breitbart article from 2022 as the basis for the former president's claims about prisoners being released for migration purposes. The article alleged that violent prisoners from Venezuela were joining migrant caravans, but this does not prove that a significant number of migrants in the Biden era are coming from prisons.

Additionally, Trump aired a video at the rally about the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, claiming that they had overrun a city in Colorado and terrorized the community. However, these claims have been disputed by residents and the city's Republican mayor.

It is important to critically evaluate the information presented by political figures and to seek out verified sources to understand the complexities of immigration and crime issues. Misleading statements can contribute to fear and misinformation, impacting public perception and policy decisions.
