During a recent campaign rally in Henderson, Nevada, former President Donald Trump took aim at Senate GOP leader Mitch McConnell, stating that McConnell 'doesn't have it anymore.' Trump also highlighted Sen. John Barrasso, the third-ranking member of Republican Senate leadership, in the crowd.
Trump then shifted focus to former independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., mentioning that Kennedy would be involved in health and women's health initiatives in his administration if reelected.
The relationship between Trump and McConnell has been strained, with McConnell recently criticizing the modern Republican Party in his new biography. McConnell expressed that the 'MAGA movement is completely wrong' and suggested that Ronald Reagan would not recognize the current state of the party.
'I think Trump was the biggest factor in changing the Republican Party from what Ronald Reagan viewed, and he wouldn't recognize it today,' McConnell stated, emphasizing the damage he believes Trump has caused to the party's image and competitiveness.
