Trump Claims Ohio Rally Was 'Totally Maxed Out' After New York Times Reports Empty Upper Seats

Donald Trump Rally Crowd Size Dispute Over Midterm Campaign Event (Credit: Screenshot/ABC News/Youtube)

Donald Trump insisted that his 3 October rally in Vandalia, Ohio, was 'totally MAXED OUT', saying supporters had moved from the upper sections towards the floor. But the New York Times wording he quoted while criticising the coverage concerned his previous evening's rally in Mobile, Alabama.

In a Truth Social post on 5 October, the president claimed that 'thousands of people were unable to get in' and rejected reports of empty seating. Separate accounts of the Ohio event described both a near-capacity crowd and stretches of empty upper bleachers.
