Trump Claims Kamala Harris Copied His SNL Routine

During a rally in Reading, Pennsylvania, former President Donald Trump claimed that Vice President Kamala Harris had copied his routine on Saturday Night Live. Trump alleged that Harris had imitated a skit he had done on 'The Tonight Show' in 2015, where host Jimmy Fallon portrayed Trump talking to the real Trump through a mirror.

Over the weekend, Harris appeared on Saturday Night Live in a cold open skit where comedian Maya Rudolph played Harris conversing with the real Harris through a mirror. Trump expressed his belief that Harris had emulated his routine and suggested that he had performed it better.

Trump's comments came as he addressed his supporters at the rally, asserting that Harris had replicated his actions on the popular comedy show. He stated, 'She uses everything I do. She uses… even Saturday Night Live they copied. They copied. Think of that. Saturday, oh she was great on — they copied my routine, I did it a long time ago, they copied the same routine. I think I did it better, actually. I think anybody could’ve done it. I think anybody could’ve done it better.'

While Trump's claims may have sparked controversy, it is not uncommon for political figures to be parodied on comedy shows like Saturday Night Live. The show often features satirical portrayals of prominent politicians and public figures, providing comedic commentary on current events and political developments.

As the debate continues over the similarities between Harris's appearance on Saturday Night Live and Trump's past skit on 'The Tonight Show,' it remains to be seen how the public and entertainment industry will respond to these allegations of imitation and copying in the realm of political comedy.
