Trump Claims Hush Money Case Is Voter Intimidation

Republican presidential candidate Trump campaigns in New Hampshire

Former President Donald Trump has labeled the hush money case against him as a form of voter intimidation and election interference. This statement comes after a judge's decision on Monday to commence jury selection for the trial on April 15.

Trump expressed his belief that the timing of the case was deliberate, suggesting that it could have been initiated three-and-a-half years ago but was strategically delayed to coincide with the election period. He asserted that the timing of the trial could hinder his ability to campaign effectively.

If the hush money trial proceeds as scheduled in April, it will mark the commencement of Trump's first criminal trial out of the four he is facing. Additionally, it may be the only trial to take place before the upcoming presidential election.
