Former President Trump's legal issues have not hindered his presidential campaign's ability to raise significant funds. The Trump campaign, in conjunction with the RNC, reported a remarkable $141 million in fundraising for the month of May, following the former president's guilty verdicts in his New York criminal trial. This amount marked a substantial increase from the $76 million raised in April, when they surpassed President Biden and the Democratic National Committee in fundraising for their anticipated 2024 election rematch.
On the other hand, the Biden campaign and the DNC disclosed that they collectively raised $85 million in May, representing their second-highest fundraising month in this election cycle. Additionally, the Biden campaign revealed that they possessed a substantial $212 million in cash reserves by the end of May.
In response to the fundraising figures, Biden campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez emphasized the campaign's robust and consistent fundraising efforts, which have attracted millions of supporters each month. Rodriguez stated, 'Our strong and consistent fundraising program grew by millions of people in May, a clear sign of strong and growing enthusiasm for the President and Vice President every single month.'
