Recent claims made by the Trump campaign suggest that garbage collection costs have surged by 18.5% under the Biden administration. The campaign referenced a report from Breitbart, alleging that Americans are facing significantly higher expenses for trash collection during the current White House tenure.
According to data from the Federal Reserve Economic Data, the price index for water, sewage, and garbage collection witnessed a 4.75% increase in September compared to the previous year.
This assertion by the Trump campaign follows criticism aimed at President Biden for his remarks about Trump supporters. During a virtual campaign call for Vice President Kamala Harris, Biden made a comment about 'garbage,' which drew attention and sparked controversy.
Furthermore, Biden took a jab at Trump's rally at Madison Square Garden, where insult comedian Tony Hinchiffe made jokes that were perceived as derogatory towards various ethnic groups. One of the jokes referred to Puerto Rico as a 'floating island of garbage.'
In response, Biden remarked that the real 'garbage' he sees is among Trump's supporters, condemning what he described as the demonization of Latinos and labeling it as un-American.
