During a recent cryptocurrency convention in Nashville, former President Donald Trump made headlines by referring to the Biden administration's Justice Department as a 'fascist regime.' Trump outlined his plan to create a national bitcoin stockpile by redirecting bitcoin seized by the US government.

Trump highlighted that most of the bitcoin currently held by the United States government was obtained through law enforcement actions. He expressed his belief that the country is moving towards a direction where assets are being taken away from individuals, labeling it as a 'fascist regime.'

It is noted that the Department of Justice has seized significant bitcoin assets during both the Biden and Trump administrations. In 2020, under Trump's presidency, the US seized $2 million worth of cryptocurrency from terrorist groups in the Middle East. Additionally, the DOJ seized over $1 billion in bitcoin associated with Silk Road, an underground criminal marketplace founded by Ross Ulbricht, who is currently serving a life sentence.

Trump has consistently pledged to commute Ulbricht's sentence and reiterated this promise during his speech in Nashville. The former president's remarks have sparked discussions and debates regarding the handling of seized bitcoin assets and the characterization of the current administration's approach to law enforcement actions.
