Republicans opened their highly unusual midterm convention in Dallas on Wednesday afternoon, a “Trump-a-Palooza” that is putting the president at the centre of this fall’s midterm elections – whether the candidates running like it or not. Speaking with FRANCE 24's Sharon Gaffney, Professor Todd Belt, Director of the Political Management Programme at George Washington University, says that Trump "believes in the power of his own charisma".
