Trump announces direct US flights to Lebanon, reversing Reagan-era rule

President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that American carriers would be permitted to resume direct flights to Lebanon, ending a four-decade suspension that followed a 1985 hijacking.

The route was originally halted by President Ronald Reagan’s administration after the TWA Flight 847 incident.
