Trump administration includes 57 officials worth at least $100 million

  • The figure is over four times as many ultra-wealthy appointees as the Bush, Obama, and Biden administrations combined, which total 13.
  • Key figures among the appointees include Cabinet members such as Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, Education Secretary Linda McMahon, and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
  • While Trump argues financial success demonstrates executive competence, Public Citizen warned that relying on the ultra-rich risks misplaced incentives and corruption.
  • The findings come as public approval of Trump's handling of the economy has fallen to 32 per cent ahead of the upcoming midterm elections.
