Truffle hunters killed in Syria: FRANCE24's investigation exposes IS group attacks

In Syria, the Islamic State group stands accused of executing a series of attacks targeting truffle hunters. Truffles, or 'sand truffles' as they're commonly known, grow in the desert and have become a sought-after commodity. FRANCE24's Observers team delved into this issue. Meanwhile, Recep Tayyip Erdogan will be retaining his position as Turkey's leader. The President won his re-election bid after securing over 52% of the vote in the run-off. Finally, Lebanon's artistic community came together to celebrate the reopening of the Sursock Museum. Both the building and several artworks were severely damaged by the Beirut port explosion in 2020. Teams have worked relentlessly to restore the site and its renowned collection to their former glory.
