Hundreds of tributes have flooded in to a "true gent" who went on a Christmas night out and never came home.
Joseph Perry died after falling on stairs in SGT Pepper's Bar on Mathew Street in Liverpool city centre. He suffered from a catastrophic head injury after the fall on Saturday, December 10, and was rushed to hospital.
It is understood Mr Perry and his colleagues worked at HMP Liverpool in Walton, and were on a Christmas night out at the time of the incident. Mr Perry remained in a critical condition for two days after the fall, and died on December 12.

Tributes have flooded in on the ECHO's Facebook to Mr Perry, who was described as a "lovely man" and a "diamond of a fella."
Jay Michael Cullen said: "So sad. In this world we live in a cruel world and it's horrible how quick we can lose our lives. RIP, thank you for what you have done job wise and you were surrounded by friends and family, and that's all any of us want."
Jennie Green said: "RIP Joe, absolutely heartbreaking thinking if your family friends and colleagues at this sad time xxx."

Merseyside Police said there were no suspicious circumstances around Mr Perry's injuries and a file has been passed to the coroner. A spokesman for the force said: "We were called to Sgt Pepper's bar on Mathew Street at around 10.40pm on Saturday night. It became apparent there was a man with a head injury inside the bar.
"An ambulance was called and first aid was carried out, but the man sadly passed away on December 12. There were no suspicious circumstances and a file has been passed to the coroner."
A spokesman for Sgt Pepper's Bar said: "We are aware of the tragic passing of Mr Perry. Out of respect for his family and friends, we won't be making a statement at this time."
A Prison service spokesperson said: "This is a tragic incident and Joseph will be deeply missed by all HMP Liverpool staff.
“Our thoughts and heartfelt sympathies remain with his family and friends.”
