The story revolves around Dick Turpin, who finds himself reluctantly leading a band of outlaws and must outsmart the corrupt lawman Jonathan Wilde, played by Hugh Bonneville. Set in 1969, 'Palm Royale' tells the story of Maxine Simmons (Wiig), an outsider attempting to break into the high society of Palm Beach.
