Authorities have revealed that the truck involved in the tragic Bourbon Street attack had a Texas license plate and crossed the southern border into the U.S. just days before the incident. According to two federal law enforcement sources, the pickup truck was tracked crossing the border at Eagle Pass, Texas, two days prior to the attack.
It has not been confirmed whether the attacker was the one driving the vehicle when it crossed the border. Additionally, the immigration status of the attacker has not been verified by the police.
The devastating attack resulted in the loss of at least 10 lives and left 35 individuals injured. The driver of the pickup truck deliberately rammed into a crowd of New Year's revelers on Bourbon Street in New Orleans in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Following the collision, the male driver reportedly exited the vehicle and engaged in a shootout with the police before being fatally shot at the scene. Authorities have confirmed that 35 individuals were taken to various hospitals across the city to receive treatment for injuries sustained during the attack.
