A truck found itself stuck in the middle of a busy city centre road yesterday after a sinkhole opened up in the middle of the road. One of the truck's wheels became lodged in the hole in the road, stopping it in its tracks.
The incident took place near Moor Street railway station yesterday (June 7), in Birmingham city centre. The lorry was left leading to one side after becoming caught in the sinkhole, according to BirminghamLive.
Roads in the area were closed while police and maintenance crews dealt with the situation. At the time, West Midlands Roads tweeted: "Park Street, Birmingham city centre, is closed due to a significant carriageway defect, between Jennens Road and Masshouse Lane. Allow additional time and use other routes to avoid."
Park Street was closed for more than two hours while the lorry was removed. Drivers were warned to expect minor delays.
