A truck carrying milk in Adelaide's southern suburbs has caught fire, causing traffic delays in the area.
Firefighters were first called to Main South Road at Seaford Meadows just after 7:50am on Tuesday after reports of fuel a truck ablaze.
A spokesperson from SA Metropolitan Fire Service said the fire was started by friction between the mudguard and the tyres before it spread to the rear area of the truck.
They said the driver tried to use milk to put out the fire before firefighters arrived, who extinguished the blaze in five minutes.
The wiring of the prime mover was damaged but the total cost is yet to be finalised.
Seafood shop owner Vasilios Moularas said the truck stopped outside his shop with its brake pads on fire.
"The driver was running around in circles, trying to figure out what to do," Mr Moularas said.
"People from the OTR ran out with fire extinguishers, which subdued (the fire) somewhat.
"In a matter of minutes the truck was engulfed."
He said fire trucks arrived soon after and put out the blaze.
Traffic on Main South Road has been delayed as emergency services continued to clean up the scene.
