Road works along County Road are set to be completed this month after lengthy delays and significant disruption.
The scheme, which hit trouble in the early summer of 2021, is now on course to be finished by the end of April, according to a council spokesperson. The project was the subject of a ‘design review’ in February which further delayed the long overdue works which were originally scheduled to finish early this year.
The end of the works will come as a boost for local residents and businesses who’ve regularly told the ECHO of their frustration at how the scheme has been handled, with many noting how the local community had been left in limbo and faced a ‘ health hazard ’ on a daily basis.
