Tronsmart is rapidly growing its illustrious catalogue of portable speakers. They have already impressed this year with their powerful products that grant premium quality at a much more affordable price.
Their Bang 60W Outdoor Party Speaker is an outstanding device that caused a stir early this year.
But Tronsmart has brought it back in a smaller form called the Tronsmart Bang Mini Portable Party Speaker.
The Bang Mini utilises the same striking design that made the original such a great device but with a few noticeable differences.
Weighing only 2.37kg, the Bang Mini is a much better option for transporting than its predecessor.
The speaker is more of an oblong shape compared to the rounded 60w Bang. The LED lights are only at each end rather than running across the frame of the speaker.
The button icons have been printed on instead of being moulded out of the rubber, but they are still accessible.
Even though these changes are subtle they still give the Bang Mini its own originality and personality that retains the exceptionally robust build quality of its predecessor.
It comes with an IPX6 waterproof rating which means it can withstand rain making it ideal to take into parks or outside sessions.
These speakers offered impressive audio with their dual 25W subwoofers and 12W tweeters giving extra bass alongside the volume output.
It's not as powerful as the 60W Bang but the Mini’s 50W output was just as fantastic.
I was really impressed that even though Tronsmart has slightly lowered the specs, there hasn’t been a massive sacrifice in quality.
The Bang Mini features SoundPulse technology that is said to provide a distortion-free output when playing your favourite music. There is a noticeable difference in audio clarity once turned on.
The Bang Mini includes extra features that elevate it from just being a speaker. It can be linked to any voice assistant that can be set up with the press of a button.
The True Wireless feature allows it to be connected to other speakers, and even though it's not on the same scale as the TuneConn, it is fully welcomed.
The speaker includes a great set of input ports that include a USB A, USB C, Micro SD and an AUX.
These extra inputs allow the user to play music from a plethora of sources if they are without Wifi, making the speaker a dependable companion during outdoor trips.
The Bang Mini won’t work with the companion app which is a frustrating omission as it limits the functionality that the other speakers offer.
For instance, the Bang Mini comes with three different LED settings but they can’t be customised. This omission also means the Bang Mini won’t have access to the extra EQ settings.
That being said it still has a great battery life offering around 14-15 hours when the LED lights are turned off.
But what's more the speaker can also act as a power bank allowing it to charge other devices.
Tronsmart Bang Mini Verdict 3 / 5
Tronsmart’s Bang Mini are great speakers with clear-sounding audio that isn’t overpowered by the bass.
Its lighter weight and robust build make it a great speaker for all occasions. That being said there are a few omissions that Tronsmart fans have become accustomed to with their other products that are missing here which is a little frustrating but not a deal breaker.
The Tronsmart Bang Mini is available now for £89.99
