TRNSMT revellers warned no trains out of Glasgow after Lewis Capaldi closes festival

TRNSMT revelers have been warned there will be no trains out of Glasgow after Lewis Capaldi closes the festival tonight.

ScotRail has urged ticketholders to find alternative means of transport out of the city when the event finishes at 11pm. It comes as part of measures introduced last month by rail chiefs due to ongoing strike action.

The dispute over pay forced bosses to introduce a reduced timetable across the network - slashing hundreds of services across the country. ScotRail advised music fans to check their journey details and make alternative travel plans home.

Phil Campbell, ScotRail 's head of customer operations, said: "Customers going to TRNSMT on Sunday should be aware that there will be no trains after the event, so please check your entire journey and know what alternative transport is available."

TRNSMT organisers earlier urged ticketholders to arrive to the event early to allow plenty of time to pass security queues.

Yesterday, punters told the Record how they waited "hours" to make way through the long lines before the festival. Thousands of people are were pictured waiting outside of Glasgow Green, with many growing frustrated at the long waits.

A spokesperson for TRNSMT said: “Anyone using public transport is encouraged to check timetables and be aware that while many rail services will be operational, some routes are subject to reduced timetables and last minute cancellations.”
