TRNSMT parking and drop off points as Glasgow music festival kicks off today

Around 50,000 revellers are expected to descend on Glasgow Green today for this year’s TRNSMT Festival.

Paolo Nutini, The Strokes and Lewis Capaldi will close the festival on each day as part of the star-studded line up.

Other incredible acts performing at the music bash include the likes of Nile Rodgers and Chic, Wolf Alice, Sam Fender, Foals and Nina Nesbitt.

TRNSMT boss Geoff Ellis has already expressed his excitement for the opening of the festival, with gates opening at midday.

There will be no festival parking and the options around the site are limited due to road closures (DAILY RECORD)

Will there be parking at TRNSMT Festival?

TRNSMT has said that there will be no festival parking, as the Glasgow Green venue is based in a residential area of the city.

There will also be a number of road closures in the area, which will limit parking options further.

Instead, punters have been advised to travel to the city via public transport and walk to the Glasgow Green site.

TRNSMT organisers have stated that there are eight car parks ‘nearby’, and people wishing to use them must visit the websites of Q Park, NCP and City Parking for more information.

Blue badge or accessible parking must be arranged with the TRNSMT Access Co-Ordinator in advance through access@trnsmtfest.com.

Drop off points

People being dropped off at the festival should head for the Glasgow Green Football Centre.

TRNSMT organisers have also listed four key drop off locations - and have used the what3words service to help find them a little bit more.

  • West - Broomielaw at Kingston Bridge (trail.locate.upon)
  • South - Caledonia Road (space.repair.brief)
  • East - London Road (tour.mobile.shine)
  • North - Duke Street at Tennents Brewery (vibrates.itself.waving)
