TRNSMT festival goers urged to arrive in 'plenty of time' to avoid queuing chaos

TRNSMT punters have been urged to arrive in ‘plenty of time’ to avoid the queuing chaos seen at the music festival yesterday.

Frustrated festival goers say that they were left in queues ‘ for hours ’ on Saturday, with some complaining about the lack of water and stewarding in the area.

Around 50,000 people are expected to descend on the Glasgow Green site later today to see the likes of Wolf Alice, Sigrid and Lewis Capaldi for the final day of the festival.

Organisers have urged people to be ‘patient’ in the case of queues forming once again today.

A spokesperson for TRNSMT said: “Arrive in plenty of time before the first act you want to see is due on stage. Set times are available on the TRNSMT app.

“Stewards will be doing their best to get everyone into the festival as quickly and safely as possible but searches and ticket checks take time, so please be patients and listen to the stewards.”

Punters have also been advised to check with public transport times before they head off to the site.

The spokesperson added: “Anyone using public transport is encouraged to check timetables and be aware that while many rail services will be operational, some routes are subject to reduced timetables and last minute cancellations.”

ScotRail has told festival goers that there will be no trains leaving Glasgow city centre after Lewis Capaldi’s closing performance later this evening.

It comes as the operator has slashed hundreds of services across the country due to ongoing driver shortages.

Until recently ScotRail was reliant on drivers workers on their rest days, however train drivers are now refusing to work overtime amid a pay dispute.

A temporary timetable has been in place since May, which has resulted in around 700 services being cut and many routes ending earlier than usual.
