Triumph just secured its first motocross World Championship; in fact, its first-ever World Championship win in any discipline. Guillem Farres has been crowned the 2026 FIM MX2 Motocross World Champion with the Triumph TF 250-X in Darwin, Australia, making Triumph the first British manufacturer to win a motocross World Championship since BSA in 1965.
The Hinkley brand also won the FIM MX2 Motocross Manufacturers World Championship title, as Farres's teammate, Camden McLellan, finished in second place. No doubt that ending a 61-year drought and bringing these awards to Britain is impressive, but what's more impressive is how quickly it happened.
Triumph hasn't been trying to win a Motocross World Championship for six decades; hell, it has only been selling motocross bikes and competing in the sport for three years. That's the most impressive aspect of this achievement. The thing is, Triumph's duo didn't just ensure the brand took home both titles; they demolished the competition, winning 11 of 19 GPS and achieving 21 moto wins between them and 26 podium finishes.
We can't discount how crucial Farres and McLellan were as riders, but it's clear that the TF 250-X is something special too.

It's unlikely Triumph will rest on its laurels, especially with the TF 450-X still to prove itself on the world's stage as it's smaller sibling has. Don't take your eyes off this manufacturer in the 2027 season.
