Tristan Thompson's mother has died after suffering a heart attack at home.
His mum, Andrea, was rushed to the hospital on Thursday in Toronto, Canada, but was not able to be resuscitated.
It is understood that the basketball player was in Los Angeles with Khloe Kardashian at the time.
The duo, who share four-year-old True and a baby boy born in August, reportedly left to be with his family using a private jet.
Sources told TMZ that Khloe joined Tristan to comfort him with his loss and was also close to Andrea.
Khloe and Tristan were seen getting off their jet to be with his family.
The NBA player was born in 1991 to Trevor and Andrea Thompson.
Tristan's dad Trevor worked as a truck driver while his mother worked as a driver for a school bus, as reported by Heavy.
Tristan also has younger brothers who are named Amari, Dishawn, and Daniel.
Amari has a neurological disorder and experiences seizures almost daily due to the condition.
Although his mother stayed out of the spotlight, Tristan spoke about his love for her several times.
In 2016, Tristan talked about their relationship and said they talked to each other daily.
“Even though I don’t live at home and I’m four hours away from home, I talk to my mom every day – ask how the kids are doing, ask how she’s doing, too,” he explained to NBA.com.
“Everyone knows that my mom, she’s very dedicated in taking care of her sons – especially Amari. But at the same time, you need to make sure that she’s ok.
“It’s asking a lot for one parent to do, so I always try to make sure that she’s doing well, too.“
He added: “Whether she’s getting a massage or just get out of the house and have a babysitter watch for a couple hours, that’s crucial.“
He also shared his love for her on social media for Mother's Day a couple of years ago.
“One day isn’t enough to praise and lift you high,“ he wrote. “Every day is your day.
“Thank you for all the sacrifices you made for me and my brothers. I love you and I’m soo lucky to have been chosen as your son. Not all superheroes wear capes.“
