Chat show host Trisha Goddard has confirmed that her cancer has returned - adding there is no cure and she is undergoing life-prolonging treatment.
Goddard, 66, was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008. She fought the condition and was declared cancer free that year.
However, the star told Hello! that the condition has returned, adding it was discovered after she had a fall over a year ago.
Goddard - who lives in America with her husband - said she now has secondary breast cancer - also known as metastatic or stage 4 breast cancer.
The presenter said she wanted to be open about her condition as keeping her battle a secret was “becoming a burden”.
“I can't lie, I can't keep making up stories,” she told the magazine. “It gets to a stage, after a year and a half, when keeping a secret becomes more of a burden than anything else.”
She continued: “[The disease] is not going to go away, and with that knowledge comes grief, and fear. But I must keep enjoying what I have always enjoyed.”
The presenter - who works for CNN and has a weekly TalkTV show - said she didn’t want to become "a poster girl for cancer" adding - "It's not who I am. It's not why I'm here."
"Also, I didn't want to read words like 'dying' and 'terminal' or 'battling'," she said. “Or 'inspirational', because it's all b******s."
The presenter said she had kept her cancer a secret as she wanted to be treated as she was when she wasn’t sick, adding: "My worry is that people will start seeing me as a frail little thing, and that if [the news] got out, I'd be judged, or people would change the way they are with me, or that I wouldn't work.
“I'm a journalist; I don't want to be 'the story'. I don't want to be interviewing someone and for them to say to me: 'I'm so sorry.'"
Goddard had her terrifying fall, which left her with a broken thigh bone and relying on a walking frame, in the summer of 2022.
Writing on her Instagram at the time, she said: “I've just had 2 of the toughest weeks... One where I was rushed to hospital for an emergency operation, literally roaring in pain.
“But I'm still alive... just. I spent a week in hospital, was discharged on the Friday and with the help of Mother Morphine, did my 3 hour @talktv shows on Saturday and Sunday. Oh, and filmed a piece for @60minutes9 midweek too!”
Cancer cells were discovered in her hip when she was being assessed following her fall.
Immediately afterwards, she underwent a partial hip replacement and some chemo and radio therapy.
She confirmed that any treatment would not cure her cancer and instead was life-prolonging.
In the interview, she also debuted short, peroxide blonde hair.
