Tripura traders get approval to export 2.5 kgs Agar oil to Dubai

AGARTALA: Tripura has got clearance from Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change for exporting Agar oil (the main natural ingredient of perfume) to other countries, said chief minister Dr Manik Saha on Friday while addressing 3rd international buyer-sellers meet on Agarwood products in Agartala.

He said the ministry has granted approval to one Mamon Enterprises of North Tripura for exporting 2.5 kilograms of Agar Oil, which became a groundbreaking move for Agarwood industry by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to boost the Agar economy of the country. Agarwood, known for its aromatic properties and high demand in perfumery and traditional medicine, has the potential to become a significant product in Tripura-Assam region.
