Whether you struggle to be a morning person or if you have a lot on your plate first thing, putting on make-up might be the least of your worries.
But if you'd like a quick fix to look more awake with a healthy glow, then there are some products and easy techniques to help you achieve a confidence boost with minimal effort.
The Mirror met with Trinny Woodall at her Trinny London concession at Manchester's Harvey Nichols to see how a three-minute make-up routine could be achieved for people on the go and for busy mums.
The style guru, famed for her early 2000s show What Not To Wear, turned beauty mogul when she launched her brand in 2017 - and it is now one of the fastest-growing start-ups in Europe.
Her collection features buildable cream-based products that you can apply with your fingers, and they're portable so they're easy to pop in your bag.
Following skincare to prepare the skin - where she explained how you can determine your skin type with her hack - Trinny, 59, says to start with the base - brightening and evening out the skin tone.
However, you might be applying more product than you really need.
"You never need to cover your whole skin," Trinny starts.
"We can be in a habit where we might have had acne or congestion or we might have rosacea so we might have done a lot of base.
"But at different stages of our life, we don't need that much. We just need to cover where we feel like we want it to match up to the rest of our skin.
"So always start your base, not where your skin is best because the contrast between where your skin is best and where you want to cover is going to be too contrasting."
Addressing my skin concerns, she adds: "If I cover the rosacea first, your skin is beautiful here so I will hardly put any on here [gesturing to the outer face]. So that's a good test to see how much base you actually need."
Professional make-up artist John Corcoran then takes over, firstly applying their BFF De-Stress - a tinted serum with hyaluronic acid, which locks in moisture.
This calms down the pink tones in my skin and the rosacea on my cheeks.
John then follows with the BFF Eye, a serum mixed with a concealer, which he applies under the eyes and in the inner corners.
He also says it can be used on other blemish-prone areas, as he pats it around my nose.
To bring some colour back into my cheeks, John opts for the Lip2Cheek in shade Lady J, which can be applied to the cheeks and lips, and pats it into my cheekbone.
"The trick is to use one finger to apply and one to blend. Pop it on and use your thumb to blend really quickly," he explains.
The make-up pro then uses a taupe shade on my eyes, Wisdom, to add some dimension.
"Lots of mascara over this and you're ready to go," he adds.
He then finished the look within just three minutes with a Sheer Shimmer in shade Bunny on the lips.
"It adds a little sparkle and can also be used as a highlighter," John says.
"The philosophy of the brand is that it's portable, you can top up your make-up on the go."
Last week, Trinny also showed us how to find out your skin type - which makes the all-important skincare step even easier.
The expert's rule is that instead of looking in the mirror and deciding that your skin is dry, for example, you should actually close your eyes and feel it for yourself, running your fingers around each area.
"You can feel this so much more with your eyes closed because you can feel the drag in your fingers. It gives you an understanding of your face," Trinny explained.
