Tributes to woman, 62, found dead in flat

Tributes for a woman found dead in a flat have flooded in.

Police attended a block of flats on Vittoria Close in Birkenhead at around 7.15pm on Thursday, May 12, following reports of a woman's body in the property. Officers and ambulance rushed to the scene, where they found Karen Wheeler, 62. She was pronounced dead the scene.

Police have now charged Mark Wheeler, 51, of Vittoria Close with her murder. He was remanded into custody and will appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court today.
