Tributes have been paid to a teenager "with the biggest smile" who died following a horror crash on a Scots road. Ben Taylor, 19, has been named locally as the young man who passed away after the collision involving a black Audi RS3 on the B9077 in Aberdeen at around 12.40am on Sunday, September 25.
Ambulance crews attended but Ben, who was a passenger in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 23-year-old driver of the car and a 22-year-old man, who was another passenger in the car, were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with minor injuries. No other vehicles were involved.
Following the devastating news, Ben's heartbroken loved ones have paid tribute to the "lovely" young man.
Ben's former employers, Cargo Carrier Solutions, said: “He was our Fleet manager during his time with us and always had this massive smile on his face. The Cargo family pray for your soul to RIP. The world will be an empty place without your big smile and laughter.”
Meanwhile friend and former colleague Leon Weideman wrote: “I was in shock when I heard of this young boy’s passing. The thing that popped into my head was his face with a big smile on (as only Ben could do).
“Continue to smile up there in the sky my little mate and may your soul rest happily and peacefully forever more. RIP Ben with love from my whole family.”
Savanna Simpson said: “Out of all the young folk I’ve worked with this young lad was so nice and funny, such a shame.”
Ryan Silvers said: “RIP my man. Always be remembered, fly high”, and Michelle Lee added: “Gone too soon, rest in peace Ben.”
Louise Smith said: “Rest in piece Ben. You were such a lovely person. Thoughts are with your family and friends at this hard time.”
J Mowat added: “Rest in peace pal, you will be sorely missed by the lot of us.”
Police quickly closed the road between Kirkton House and Leggart Terrace while a full investigation was carried out, before officers appealed for information.
Sergeant Lesley Morrison, of the Elgin Road Policing Unit, said: “Our enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing and our thoughts are with the driver’s family at this difficult time. I would urge anyone who witnessed the crash or saw the car prior to the incident to get in touch.”
