Tributes have been paid to a young Scots man who died after a fall at a volcano in Ecuador.
Gil Banks suffered fatal injuries while attempting to scale the Rucu Pichincha volcano near Quito on Sunday August 14.
Originally from Newton Mearns, before emigrating with his family to Israel, it is understood Gil had been travelling around South America after finishing his army service in an elite unit.
