Tributes have been paid to a former Minister, who served his congregation for over 30 years.
The Reverend John McLean was Minister at Boghall Parish Church from 1970 to 2003 until he moved back to his childhood home of in the North East Of Scotland.
He passed away aged 84 on April 5. He is survived by his sons John and Neil his daughter, Morna and his wife, Iris.
Tributes have poured in Boghall Parish Church’s Facebook page.
Mandy Millar said: “He was such a lovely man, he was the minister when I attended the Sunday school, he always included the children in his services each week and included lots of interaction and good humour, will always remember that.”
Garry Dalling said: “So sorry to hear of John’s passing. He was such a gentleman and a pleasure to work with. My thoughts and prayers and with his wife Iris and the family.”
And Liz McGrorty added: “Such sad news, Rev McLean was a lovely Gentleman, thoughts and prayer are with his family and friends.”
The church announced on its Facebook page: ”I am sorry to say that Rev. John McLean, one of our former ministers, has died at home aged 84.
“We give thanks for his ministry in Boghall and the impact he made during that time. We think of his family, his sons John and Neil and his daughter, Morna and his wife, Iris. May he rest in peace.”
