Tributes to Edinburgh songwriter behind Merry Christmas Everyone as he dies age 76

Bob Heatlie has passed away at the age of 76, with Shakin’ Stevens paying tribute to the Merry Christmas Everyone songwriter.

Born in Craigmillar back in 1946, Bob passed away on April 8 with friends and family sharing condolences, according to The Mirror. Posting to social media, Shakin’ Stevens said he and his partner Sue were sending love to Bob’s family.

Taking to Twitter, Shakin' Stevens whose real name is Michael Barratt said: "Last weekend we heard the sad news that our dear friend, Bob Heatlie, had passed away.
