Tributes have been pouring in for a father-of-three who was killed in a crash involving a car and a truck in Co Limerick on Tuesday.
The victim of the accident has been named locally as 46-year-old Aidan Nestor, who has since been described with the utmost regard by his friends, co-workers and acquaintances.
Mr Nestor was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision on the N21 outside Rathkeale at around 3:30pm on February 28.
He had been living in Shanagolden, Co Limerick at the time of his tragic passing but was originally from Askeaton, where his funeral will take place.
He was a well-respected member of St Senan’s GAA club in Limerick, and in a heartfelt tribute a spokesperson said: "There are no words to express our heartfelt condolences to the Nestor Family.
"Deepest sympathy to Aidan's beloved wife Vanessa and his heartbroken children Amy, Matthew, and Zoe on the sudden tragic passing of their dad Aidan.
"We offer our Sincere Sympathy to Aidan's mother Ann, his sister Jean, mother-in-law Helen and extended family.
"We offer them peace, comfort, courage, and love during this very difficult time."
Many others left messages of condolences for the family online, including one mourner who described Mr Nestor as a "wonderful gentleman".
"Our deepest condolences to Vanessa, Amy, Mathew, Zoe, Ann, Jean, and Maire and Helen," they wrote.
"A wonderful gentleman, who adored his family and was so helpful to everyone who worked with him. Such a tragic loss but you are all in our thoughts and prayers. May God give him Eternal peace. R.I.P."
Another commented: "Our deepest sympathies to Vanessa and family, to mam Ann, sister Jean, and extended family and friends on the sad passing of Aidan. He was a lovely guy and a gentleman May he rest in peace."
An ex-co-worker added: "Deepest condolences to Vanessa and family on the tragic loss of Aidan. May his gentle soul rest in peace and eternal light shine on him.
"A lovely fella enjoyed the times we worked together. Sincere sympathy."
Mr Nestor’s remains will repose at Kieran Madigan's Funeral Home, Main Street, Askeaton this Thursday from 6pm to 8pm.
Requiem Mass will take place at Shanagolden Church on Friday at 11am followed by a private cremation in Shannon Crematorium.
