Dublin comedian and radio host PJ Gallagher’s beloved mam Helen will be laid to rest later this week, after tributes poured in for her following her sad passing at the weekend.
Taking to Twitter and Instagram at the weekend, PJ paid a sweet tribute to his mam as he announced the news alongside a black and white photo. He posted: "RIP Ma 5/11/2022."
Clontarf native PJ later shared another lovely photo of himself and his mother smiling together on social media. His post was immediately met with condolences from his friends in the Irish TV industry and fans.

RTE broadcaster Aonghus McNally paid tribute, writing: “Big hugs to you PJ at such a sad time. X.” Broadcaster Maia Dunphy wrote: “Sending you all my love on the loss of your lovely mam. She sounded like a remarkable woman.”
One fan wrote: "Our sincerest condolences on the death of your mother. She was a true lady.”
According to a death notice published on RIP.ie, Helen passed away “under the care and kindness” of all the staff in the special care unit at the Mater Hospital on Saturday. The notice reads: "Beloved wife of the late Sean, loving mother of PJ and Stacey, cherished granny to Joey, Tommy and Anna May; very sadly missed by her loving family, son-in-law Paul, daughter-in-law Elaine, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends. May she Rest in Peace."
Helen will be reposing at Staffords Funeral Home, Maypark on Tuesday, November 8, from 5pm to 7pm with family in attendance. Her funeral mass will take place at St John the Baptist Church, Clontarf Road at 10am on Wednesday followed by burial at Glasnevin Cemetery.
The funeral service will be streamed online by visiting Clontarf Parish.
