The local community have been devastated by the young man's death.

"Sadly missed by his loving father, mother, brothers, sister, cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews, extended family and friends."

A GoFundMe has been set up by friends of the family to help with funeral costs.
It reads: "Hi, my name is Colm, and I am writing on behalf of the Carr family following the tragic loss of their son and brother Seán.
"On the 20th of June 18-year-old, Seán Carr died unexpectedly in tragic circumstances. Seán's family, friends and local volunteers, with the assistance of Glynn & Kilurin Community First Responders and Wexford Search, Rescue and Recovery K9 Unit were able to bring their son home.
"From his family....
'Seán was a bright young soul. Quiet as he was, he would do anything for anyone without question. He loved all animals and everything and everyone around him. Although he had his close group of friends, everyone he met and talked to would have nothing but positive things to say. He has made a lasting impression on all of us.
"He was driven and motivated in all his endevours and was set to go to university and study architecture. As a brother, he was there for anyone of us when we needed him. He was the most kind, witty and caring person and all he would have wanted would be for us to stick together and to love and support each other through this difficult time.
"He will be dearly missed by everyone'
"I am appealing for donations to assit the Carr family with funeral expenses at this unexpected and difficult time and to give back to the charities that went above and beyond to bring Seán home.
"Any assistance is greatly appreciated."
