The mum will be laid to rest after a funeral mass at Church of the Sacred heart, Belclare on Thursday.

It was asked that if people desired, they could donate to The Galway Hospice.

Half-forward Gary has played for local club Corofin and Galway over the years in a distinguished career.

A core part of one of the most dominant club sides ever, he helped them to secured nine county titles along with five Connacht championships. In addition to that, they went on to win the All-Ireland on four occasions.

Corofin GAA shared a tribute, writing: “Corofin GAA Club are saddened by the untimely passing of Bevin Sice early this morning, in the gentle care of her loving family.

“The club extends its deepest sympathy to Gary, Sadhbh and the extended Sice and Grant families on their tragic loss. We hold the family dear in our thoughts and prayers during these difficult and challenging times.

“Bevin brought light, joy and happiness into all of the lives she has touched, she confronted adversity with courage and hope; may her gentle soul now rest in peace.”

Galway Footballers Homepage also paid tribute to Bevin, writing: “We would like to extend our deepest sympathy to Gary, Sadhbh and the extended Sice & Grant families on the sad passing of Bevin.”
