Tributes have been paid to two people who died in a crash in Pontypridd. Mother-of-five Kayleigh Cornwell and Jason Morgan, who were both 32, were killed in the incident on Ynysybwl Road, known locally at the 'Bwl Straight', on Friday night.
Ms Cornwell, who was from the Hampshire area, had "five beautiful children", who her family said she adored. In a statement, the family said: "Kayleigh was a daughter, sister and mother to five beautiful children who she adored and was adored by them. Kayleigh had a troubled life but made the best of it and could see a future. We are all heartbroken. We hope Kayleigh is at peace and goes onto a better life, knowing how much she was truly loved by us all.”
Mr Morgan was from the Ynysybwl area of Pontypridd. His family said they were grateful to everybody involved and their thoughts are with the driver of the vehicle involved in the collision.
South Wales Police is continuing to appeal for information regarding the fatal crash. A statement from the force said: "We are continuing to investigate the fatal road traffic collision which happened on B4273, Ynysybwl Road, Pontypridd, at 6.30pm on Friday, January 27. The collision involved a black Ford Focus and three pedestrians.
"Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have any dash-cam footage of the incident. We are not looking for anyone else in connection to this incident. The driver remained at the scene to assist officers. Our thoughts remain with all those affected by this incident."
