Tributes have been paid to the former Hamilton Accies director Bill Sherry following his sudden passing.
Mr Sherry, who was in his 80s, passed away just days after renewing his season ticket for his beloved club.
The Airdrie native was on the New Douglas Park club’s board of directors from 1997 until 2001, and was chief executive of the club at one point, reports Lanarkshire Live.

He passed away suddenly on Friday night.
Hamilton Accies secretary Scott Struthers said: “I was very sorry to hear of Bill’s sudden and unexpected death on Friday, particularly as I was chatting away to him as normal, when he was in last Wednesday, renewing his season ticket.
“Bill came onto the board in 1997 and with his previous council experience he was of assistance, particularly as the club sought planning consent etcetera during our homeless period and leading up to completing the deals for the new stadium.
“He was very much a family man and always providing the news.
“He was a regular at all home games, some away, and always stopped for a chat.
“Our thoughts are with his wife, children, wider family and friends.”
