Moving tributes have been paid to EastEnders and Desmond's star Mona Hammond who has died aged 91. Mona played the role of Blossom Jackson in the BBC soap and Susu in the Channel 4 sitcom Desmond's.
She starred in EastEnders from 1994 to 1997, before returning in 2010 for two episodes. In 1986, she also had a minor role as Michelle Fowler's midwife, The Mirror reports.
The star's other TV work included roles in police dramas The Sweeney and Juliet Bravo. She also played Mabel Thompson on BBC radio soap The Archers.

However, Mona first began her acting career on the stage, having spent two years at the Royal National Theatre in productions such as Fuente Ovejuna and Peer Gynt directed by Declan Donnellan, and The Crucible.
Among those to pay tribute was Loose Woman presenter Charlene White, who said: "Mona Hammond, a trailblazer in every way. Thank-you."
Red Dwarf and Death in Paradise star Danny John-Jules wrote: "Yesterday we lost a #WindrushLegend #MonaHammond All praise to Ladies of the #VisitMona Group (Led by #SuzetteLlewellyn) Who tirelessly made sure that Mona was well looked after from the moment she went into care, her 'Final Curtain'. RIP."
Fan Marverine Cole added: "Oh gosh. How very sad. She graced our screens for years, bringing immense joy. May god rest her."
And Bonnie wrote: "Sad times about Mona Hammond, I always remember her from Desmond’s but she was always a familiar face on tv (and what a great face)."
