Tributes are being paid to for a young Irishman killed in a motorbike incident while on holiday in Thailand earlier this week.
John Lennon, 24, from Graiguecullen, County Carlow is being remembered as a huge GAA fan and was well-known for his love of sports.
Mr Lennon’s funeral notice on rip.ie reads: “John Lennon, Graiguecullen, Carlow - 20th March 2023 following a motorcycle accident in Thailand.

“Predeceased by his sister Caroline. Sadly missed by his heartbroken parents Mary Rose and John, sister Avena and brother Paul, sister-in-law Jaime, nephews Paul Junior, Sean and Tadgh, aunts, uncle, colleagues, neighbours and many friends.”
Tributes have been paid by members of the local community.
No funeral arrangements have been made as yet until Mr Lennon’s remains are repatriated.
One wrote: “Our deepest condolences to John's family and friends. Thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.”
A second said: “Such a fine looking handsome young man taken way too young, God wanted him home early. Didn't know him but I'm so sorry for your heart breaking sad news. Thinking of you all at this sad time & praying that Our Lady & the angels give you comfort and peace. May he rest now in eternal peace.”
While a third wrote: “Sending love and prayers to John's family, parents, sister, brother and all who knew him, a fine young man gone to soon, though I never knew John my thoughts and heart are going out to you all, god give ye strength in the coming days, god rest you John.”
A DFA spokesperson said to the Irish Sun, “that it is aware of the case and is providing consular assistance, but they will not comment on the details of this individual case.”
