A Dublin community is mourning the loss of a beloved local figure following her death.
Tributes are pouring in for Blanchardstown woman Nuala Kane, who died on Sunday.
Nuala, who was a former member of the Whitestown Tenants Association in 1983, was described as an "amazing woman" and a "great pillar of the community".
Residents of Whitestown Estate will stand at their gates to honour her memory on Thursday morning between 9am and 9.30am when she will be laid to rest.
A spokesperson for the Whitestown Estate Management page on Facebook said: "We would like to send our deepest sympathies to the Kane family on the passing of Nuala Kane.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends at this sad time. Nuala was a former member of Whitestown Tenants Association in 1983 where she moved on to community development. May she Rest in Peace.
"As a mark of respect, we ask residents on the Park to stand at their gates Thursday morning January 27 between 9am and 9:30am."
Friends, family, and well-wishers took to the comments to pay tribute to Nuala.
One person said: "Nuala will be sorely missed, such an amazing woman and a great pillar of the community. RIP Nuala."
Another person said: "So sorry to hear of Nuala's passing. She was a lovely woman. Condolences to her family and friends. May she rest in peace."
A third person added: "My deepest condolences to all the family. I am so sad to hear this."
A notice on RIP.ie reads: "The death has occured of Nuala Kane, (nee Hughes) (Blanchardstown, Dublin 15 and formerly of Cabra West, Dublin 7) January 23, 2022 (peacefully) in the loving care of the staff at Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown, Nuala, dear mother of Greg, Garreth, Pamela and Jordan; sadly missed by her loving family, grandchildren Ross, Devin, Rylee, Kaci, Rhéa, Jamie, Sarah and Garreth, son-in-law Joe, daughters-in-law Joanne and Laura, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace."
