Tributes have flooded in following the tragic death of a woman and a child in Leeds today (Mon).
At around 8.30am, West Yorkshire Police were called to a report that a white Audi had crashed into the wall of the Vertu Jaguar Leeds car dealership in Scott Hall Road. A woman and a child, who were walking nearby during the school run, were tragically hit by the car and were found injured at the scene.
Both the woman and child were pronounced dead a short time later. The driver of the Audi is under arrest and remains in hospital where they are being treated for serious injuries.

People have posted tributes to the woman and child on social media, with many saying it is such a "heartbreaking" loss. Debra said: "This is just heartbreaking that poor family. Sending thoughts to the loved ones..."
Scott said: "This is so sad really sad the poor family my heart goes out to those. R.i.p to the mother and child may the angels take care of you both." Janine added: "Absolutely tragic and heartbreaking. Scott Hall Road is still closed off . Just been diverted. Just so sad."
Another person added: "Absolutely heartbreaking so sad . Our deepest condolences thoughts and prayers are with the family at this so sad time."
"Oh my goodness, I can’t believe what I’m reading. Thinking of that poor woman and child and the family left behind. So so sad," Rebecca commented. Danny said: "Wow this is heartbreaking hope they are together still in death. Thoughts are with the family"
Detective Inspector Paul Conroy, of the Major Collision Enquiry Team, said in an earlier statement: "This is an absolutely tragic incident and we are working to support the family of the woman and child involved.
"We have already spoken to a number of witnesses but are keen to speak to anyone else who has witnessed the collision itself or the events leading up to it. We would also ask anyone who was in the area around the time of this collision to check their dashcam footage."
