BENGALURU: The Karnataka high court has cancelled the anticipatory bail granted to a police constable, holding that the trial court had passed the order in a mechanical manner without assessing the complaint against him, reports Vasantha Kumar.
On April 4 this year, the 53rd city civil and sessions court, Bengaluru, had granted anticipatory bail to constable Fakirappa Hatti in a case registered against him in the Mahadevapura police station for rape, cheating, criminal intimidation and other offences. The woman complainant challenged the order before the HC.
