Treyarch Looking To Nerf 'Call of Duty: Black Ops 6' Overpowered Perk That Players Consider a Wallhack

Developer Treyarch confirmed that it is planning to introduce nerfs to the seemingly overpowered Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 perk that some players are considering to be a wallhack.

The Recon three-perk bonus allows players to see other people through walls for a short duration after they respawn.

It also makes it so that no death skulls are left after you successfully eliminate an opposing player if you have the Vigilance, Engineer, and Ghost perks equipped.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's OP Perk

Associate director Matt Scronce responded to the various complaints on social media with a one-word post, "Incoming." This seemingly referred to the fact that Treyarch is already looking to make some balance adjustments to make the game more fair.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's maps have a tighter design in multiplayer mode to emphasize the use of the new omnimovement system.

The game's maps have smaller arenas and the controversial perk provided people with a massive advantage over their enemies, according to Game Spot.

A lot of people have been arguing that the perk in question made it very difficult to build up any kind of momentum. This was because other players seemed to have wallhacks in how they find enemies and take them out.

One of the game's maps, Nuketown, has become a prime example of the issue as many people have had frustrating experiences going against the Recon perk.

Others also noted that some who were flashbanging their teammates to get easy experience made the situation worse.

Nerfing the Controversial Recon Perk

Due to how powerful the Recon perk is right now in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, it has already become the meta in multiplayer. This resulted in other perks being left behind, such as the Enforcer and Strategies categories, IGN said.

Scronce's one-word post has already been met with relatively positive and hopeful replies from Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 players. They are looking forward to seeing just what kind of nerfs will be implemented to make the perk not too overpowered.

With the latest update to the game, Treyarch has reduced the duration that Recon highlights enemy players after they respawn from 2 seconds to 1.5 seconds.

While some players see it as a relatively small change, Treyarch said that "an additional reduction will be coming before Season 01."

The developer said that they are continuously observing data and player feedback for the game's various perks and combat specialties. The studio noted that they had made spot adjustments to some areas, according to PCGamer.
