Trey Lance will start at quarterback for the Los Angeles Chargers in their 2025 NFL preseason opener against the Detroit Lions. The decision, announced by head coach Jim Harbaugh, comes as the team plans to rest starter Justin Herbert. The matchup is set for Thursday, 1 August, at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio.
